Bone is an item added by vanilla Minecraft. Bones are easy to obtain ,you can kill skeletons,find them in naturally spawned chests or even find finding "fossil ore" in my experience you get a 50/50 chance of getting bones.

Bones can be made into "bone meal" which means if you right click on a sapling or wheat or any plant that can grow apart from roses (yellow and red) gives it a "boost." Some plants in the Hexxit mod don't grow. You can craft hexxit gear with it. You can also right click on grass with it and it will grow "tall grass and other flowers."

Bone is a material in Tinkers' Construct.
